NAWAS (National Warning System)
NAWAS is a dedicated, nationwide, party line telephone warning system operated on a 24 hour basis.  It is used for the dissemination of warning and other emergency information from federal and state warning points to county warning points.  There are 35 NAWAS "drops" in Oregon.
