Memorial Service set for Sgt. Don Walters of Salem
 
Salem, Ore. The memorial service for Sergeant Don Walters, a graduate of North Salem Highs School is scheduled for Saturday, April 19, 2003 at 2:30 p.m. The service will be held at the Salem Armory Auditorium located at 2310 17th Street NE in Salem.
 
Governor of Oregon, Ted Kulongoski will attend this memorial in honor of Sgt. Walters. Listed as missing in action since his unit was ambushed, the official notification that Walters was killed in action as a member of the 507th Maintenance Company came after special forces soldiers rescued Jessica Lynch and located the 11 bodies from a hospital in Iraq.
 
Attendees are advised to enter the parking lot from the main entrance to the Oregon State Fairgrounds on Sunnyview Street. This will eliminate confusion due to the events ongoing at the Oregon State Fairgrounds.
