Oregon Army National Guard to conduct FLIR search again tonight
 
The OH-58 Kiowa helicopter from the Army Aviation Flight Facility in Salem, Ore. will continue the search tonight for James Kim. Officials from the Sheriff's Office have requested use of the OH-58 equipped with the Forward Looking Infrared System to aid in locating Mr. Kim. The Military Air Rescue Team from the Oregon Army National Guard is highly trained to work in the mountainous areas of Oregon and could prove invaluable to the rescue effort when Mr.Kim is located.

A second aircraft, a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter is en route to its standby location at the Medford Airport. This helicopter is the medevac helicopter used for many rescue operations and has on board a full compliment of crew to include flight medics, crew chief and two pilots. This team is highly skilled in hoist operations and patient stabilization and transport.
