Family requests privacy during services for Sgt. Gibson
The family of Sgt. Brennan C. Gibson has asked for privacy during his funeral service and interment. Media are expected to honor the request for privacy and respect the wishes of the bereaved. Media are not invited to the service or the interment.
Loved ones will pay their respects to Sgt. Gibson, a soldier with Oregon ties, who died Dec. 10 from injuries suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 509th Infantry (Airborne), 4th Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Fort Richardson, Alaska.
