Oregon Army Aviation sending Blackhawks to Washington
At the request of the State of Washington, the Oregon Army National Guard will launch two UH-60 Blackhawks this afternoon at approximately 2:45 p.m. The Blackhawks with complete crews will travel to Rochester, Washington where they will assist with emergency evacuation efforts due to flooding. Rochester is located between Chehalis and Olympia. The evacuees will be taken to a local high school football stadium.
The Oregon National Guard has a interstate agreement with the surrounding states for support in emergency situations.
