Oregon Army National Guard launches CH-47 helicopter to assist Pendleton Fire Department
The Oregon Army National Guard launched a CH-47 Chinook helicopter at 4:00 p.m. today to assist the Pendleton Fire Department with a large, wildland grass fire.
The Pendleton Fire Department requested the assistance of the Oregon Army National Guard through the Office of Emergency Management.
A crew of five Oregon Army National Guard soldiers from the Army Aviation Support Facility in Pendleton are aboard the Chinook helicopter. The aircraft is equipped with a 2,000 gallon Bambi Bucket.
