Oregon National Guard rescues injured logger in Polk County
An Oregon National Guard UH-60 Helicopter crew assisted in a rescue this morning, when a logger fell off a cliff in Polk County. The incident happened about 9 miles west of Black Rock and Mainline Road, which is about 45 miles outside of Salem, Oregon.
The Oregon National Guard received the call for assistance at 9:25 a.m., Monday, May 5, 2008. The UH-60 helicopter reached the victim quickly and had him delivered to Oregon Health and Sciences University at 11:40 a.m. The name of the victim and his condition are unknown at this time.
The UH-60 is part of C Company, 7th Battalion, 158th Aviation Regiment, based in Salem.
