Oregon Army Guard to support Polk County search efforts
 
The Oregon Army National Guard is supporting the Polk County Sheriff's office in a search effort using an OH-58 Kiowa helicopter near Spongs Landing in the Keizer area.

The OH-58, launched from the Army Aviation Support Facility in Salem on July 28, at approximately 8:15 AM.

The Polk County Sheriffs Office is the lead response agency. For more information, see the Polk Co. press release at http://www.flashalert.net/news.html?id=1292 

There are approximately 3,000 soldiers and airmen from the Oregon National Guard deployed around the world in support of federal missions leaving approximately 5,500 guard members along with a variety of equipment to support domestic needs.
