Oregon Guard Helicopter to Assist in Search of Missing Hunter
 
SALEM, Ore. -- The Oregon Army National Guard is supporting the Benton County Sheriff's Department in a search effort using an OH-58 Kiowa helicopter near Little Grass Mountain.

The OH-58, launched from the Army Aviation Support Facility in Salem on October 5, at approximately 11:45 AM, is expected to arrive in the area around noon.

The helicopter will be searching the area for a hunter who has been missing for two days. The hunter was last seen approximately 8 miles west of Kings Valley, Ore., and is believed to be diabetic.

There are approximately 3,300 soldiers and airmen from the Oregon National Guard deployed around the world in support of federal missions leaving approximately 5,200 guard members along with a variety of equipment to support domestic needs.
