173rd Fighter Wing running 24 hours a day

Klamath Falls, Ore - Within hours of the destruction wrought by the terrorists on September 11, the 173rd Fighter Wing was heavily involved in the defense of the Western United States. Portions of the 173rd have been activated and have been extremely busy providing air sovereignty over the skies of America. Citizens of Klamath Falls can expect F-15s to fly at any time during day or night. Brigadier General James Cunningham, commander of the Oregon Air National Guard states, "I am very proud of the 173rd Fighter Wing's hard work in keeping American airspace safe and helping deter further terrorist actions". The 173rd will continue doing this mission in the foreseeable future.
