Main Body Two returns on Friday
Medford, Ore. - Main Body Two of Task Force 1st Battalion, 186th Infantry of the Oregon Army National Guard will return from their tour of duty in Egypt as part of the Multinational Forces and Observers peacekeeping mission. The contract aircraft are scheduled to arrive at the Medford Airport beginning at 11:40 a.m. with the last plane arriving at approximately 1:15 p.m.
Brigadier General Raymond Byrne Jr., Commander of the 41st Separate Infantry Brigade will be on hand at the Medford Armory to offer his congratulations and those of Governor Kulongowski and Major General Alexander Burgin, The Adjutant General, for a successful mission. The armory is located at 1701 S. Pacific Highway in Medford, Ore.
Following a brief ceremony, the soldiers will be released to their families and friends.
This ends an eight month deployment for these men and women of the Oregon Army National Guard’s 1st Battalion, 186th Infantry headquartered in Ashland, Ore. The battalion is commanded by Lt. Colonel Cameron.
