2nd Battalion, 162 Infantry, Oregon Army National Guard Mobilization date set for October 12, 2003
 
Salem, Ore. - Soldiers from the 2nd Battalion, 162 Infantry have received their official mobilization date of October 12, 2003. This is the date they will go on federal orders. They will report to their local armories in either Coos Bay, Cottage Grove, Eugene, Corvallis or Newport to complete any training requirements and pack and load their equipment in preparation for movement to Ft. Hood, Texas.
 
Their official mobilization ceremony will take place on October 29, 2003 and they will depart for Texas on 30 October from the Mahlon Sweet Airport in Eugene.
 
These soldiers are coming together from communities throughout Oregon. The following is a breakdown of the communities and numbers of soldiers from each town:
