Soldiers all in stable condition
The convoy from B Co was ambushed this afternoon. There were four vehicles with eight soldiers refilling our water distributors from the Mosul Water Treatment Plant. The ambush was primarily small arms fire directed at the tractor-trailers. Three soldiers were wounded and were brought back to the Army hospital here at the airfield for treatment. One soldier was treated and returned to the company. The two other wounded soldiers have more serious wounds but are stable. None of the wounds are life threatening. The two soldiers injured by direct fire will be medically evacuated out of the theater and we expect a full recovery.
All of the families have already been notified. Any changes in the soldiers' medical status will be reported back through the undersigned.
