Mission ends with land rescue

Salem, Ore. – An Oregon Army National Guard UH-60 Blackhawk returned to base after a rescue mission was terminated.

The ORARNG launched the helicopter around noon to support the rescue, but the victim was taken out by land instead of requiring aero-medical evacuation. The logger was injured in the area of the McKenzie Bridge off Highway 126 in Lane County.

The Oregon Army National Guard is trained to perform aero-medical evacuation missions, and they performed dozens of rescue missions throughout the Pacific Northwest over the last year.

The Oregon National Guard is a highly trained and skilled cadre of citizen-soldiers and citizen-airmen dedicated to serving Oregon, defending the United States, and supporting federal missions
