Funeral Services set for Sgt. Matt Gregg of Medford
Funeral services for Sgt. Matthew Gregg of Medford, Ore. who died when the 5 ton truck he was driving spun out at milepost 297 near I-5 have been set for Monday, Nov. 14, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. Services will be held at Willamette National Ceremony.
Gregg was part of an eleven vehicle convoy traveling from Portland to Medford when the incident occurred on Sunday, Nov. 6th at approximately 4:30 p.m. The vehicle hit a spot on the road and spun around several times and then left the roadway. A second vehicle which was following Gregg also spun out in the spot moments later.
Governor Kulongoski and Major General Rees, The Adjutant General will be on hand to relay the condolences of the state and the Guard community on the loss of this fine soldier.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Medford later in the week.
Gregg was posthumously promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
He is survived by his wife Jill and young son Travis of Medford and parents from Portland, Ore.
