La Grande Soldier dies in Iraq
Sgt. First Class Mark C. Warren, 44, 3rd Battalion, 116th Cavalry, Oregon Army National Guard headquartered in La Grande, Ore., passed away in a non combat related incident in Kirkurk, Iraq on Jan. 31, 2005.
As this incident is currently under investigation by the United States Army, no additional information is available at this time.
More information will be provided as it becomes available.
Warren is survived by 3 sons Christopher 24, Michael 17, Ryan 12, his mother Wanda Davies and his sister Tera Warren Bergess.
Acting Adjutant General, Brig. Gen. Raymond C. Byrne, Brig. Gen. Douglas Pritt, Commander, 41st Brigade and the entire Guard community are saddened by the loss of this soldier.
