Jobs for returning Guardsmen
 
In response to the increasing demand for employment opportunities for the soldiers returning from long deployments overseas, the Oregon National Guard has manned a Transition Center at the Anderson Readiness Center in Salem, Oregon.
 
Capt. Jeff Croy is the Career Transition Counselor/Corporate Contact who will work with these soldiers to locate employment. Employers who have positions available can contact Croy directly at 503-584-2389 or J.D. Baucom at 503-584-2393.
 
This is just one part of the "Reintegration Process" being worked by the Oregon National Guard. A resource manual will be available online for returning service members in the near future. It will list resources and contacts for 1. Tricare / Triwest (medical and dental care); 2: Heath issues, VA facilities, Mental health and emergency contact information; Educational benefits; Employment; Benefits; Other sources of Assistance not through the VA; Legislative contact information; and Legal issues and assistance.
