Army Guard launching one OH-58 Kiowa helicopter in search for missing 27 year old female
At the request of Oregon Emergency Management, the Oregon Army National Guard has launched a OH-58 helicopter from the RAID team in Salem, Ore. The helicopter is enroute to Mt. Emily near Gold Beach, Ore., to assist in the search for a 27 year old female who became separated from her group and is considered to be lost at this time.
Piloting the aircraft is Chief Warrant Officer Rod Comstock and Chief Warrant Officer 2 Michael Jolma.
The Oh-58 helicopter is typically used in drug spotting missions in support of local law enforcement, but is also available to assist in search and rescue missions.
