Army Guard lauches two Blackhawks to Mt. Rainier
Two Blackhawk helicopters will depart the Army Aviation Support Faciloity, Oregon Army National Guard in Salem, Ore. at approximately 9:30 a.m today. They are enroute to the Ingraham Glacier on Mt. Rainier.
Four climbers have fallen into a crevasse at the 13,200 foot level. All have reportedly suffered injuries. A ground crew is enroute. The flight crews from the 1042nd Medical Company (Air Ambulance) will likely effect a hoist operation to retrieve the climbers from the crevasse and stabilize the climbers for transport.
Primary hospital for this mission will be Madigan Army Medical Center in Washington.
