1042nd Medical Company (Air Ambulance) mobilizes 35 soldiers for tour of duty in Afghanistan
The mobilization ceremony for 35 members of the 1042nd Medical Company (Air Ambulance) and four aircraft will be held tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. July 19, 2005, They are currenlty being mobilized for a six month in county tour of duty in Afghanistan. They will report to their mobilization station at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma on 25 July where they will undergo several weeks of theater specific training prior to their forward movement to Afghanistan. 
Their past mobilizations have included rotations into Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan as well as Bosnia, all in the past few years.
Several members of this unit team consisting of pilots co pilots, crewchiefs and flight medics and maintenance personnel have perviously served in Afghanistan.
Immediately following the ceremony the flight medics will depart for a specific flight medic course at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas. Of the remaining 29 members, 14 will ferry the aircraft to Ft. Sill and the remaining 15 will depart for Ft. Sill on commercial air to arrive on or around 25 July 2005.
