|Army Guard helicopter rescue operation complete
The crew of the Blackhawk helicopter from the Oregon Army National Guard Aviation Support Facility in Salem, Ore., has reported the completion of a successful rescue operation near McKenzie Bridge south of Sisters, Ore. The female patient was transported to the Bend Trauma Center for treatment for injuries sustained when she fell from a waterfall. Flight medic Sgt. Kevin Hoggard reported she suffered a broken back, two broken legs and hypothermia.
The woman and a male companion were on the waterfall last night when they both fell. The man was able to walk in to call for assistance. He was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital for treatment.
The Lane County Sheriffs office is the lead agency on this operation.
