|Army Guard preparing to launch UH-60 Blackhawk to McKenzie Bridge
At the request of Oregon Emergency Management and Lane County, the Oregon Army Aviation Support Facility in Salem, Ore. is preparing to launch one UH-60 Blackhawk. The aircraft is expected to depart Salem at approximately 8:30 a.m. enroute to McKenzie Bridge in Lane County to effect the rescue and transport of a 21 year old female. The woman is reported to have broken her back and one leg.
The pilot is charge today will be Major Tom Lingle of Sublimity, Ore. Co pilot will be Colonel Dave Greenwood, with crew chief Sgt. Justin Thomas and flight medic Sg.t Kevin Hoggard.
They will likely transport the woman to the nearest trauma center after stabilizing her injuries.
The Lane County Sheriffs office is the lead agency on this operation.
