Oregon Citizen-Soldiers return to Oregon from Kuwait Saturday, demobilize Tuesday
Thirty-seven Oregon National Guard soldiers of the 41st Personnel Services Company, based out of Salem, will return Saturday from a one-year deployment in Kuwait.
The soldiers are expected to arrive at the Portland International Airport on Southwest Airlines Flight 605 at approximately 2:20 p.m. Family members and military officials will greet them at the airport.
The soldiers will go through demobilization processing in Salem October 23 to 24.
The public is invited to attend the Demobilization Ceremony for the 41st Personnel Services Company on Tuesday, October 24 at 4:30 p.m. at the Anderson Readiness Center, 3225 State Street, Salem, Ore.
The 41st Personnel Services Company deployed to Kuwait in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom from August 2005 to October 2006. Their mission was to provide personnel support to the Theater Personnel Command and Coalition Forces Land Component Command.
The 41st Personnel Services Company performed individualized personnel support from the company through brigade and at the theater levels. The company managed casualty reporting theater-wide, and provided technical level expertise over the theater's personnel accounting. Assistance was provided for the promotion of over 1200 reservists through their theater-level promotion boards. They supported deployment and re-deployment as well as replacement operations. The 41st Personnel Services Company returns home being acknowledged with sustaining the highest levels of professionalism, esprit de corps and patriotism.
The demobilizing soldiers are from Beaverton, Canby, Corvallis, Gresham, Hubbard, Lebanon, Milwaukie, Monmouth, Mt. Angel, Oregon City, Pendleton, Pleasant Hill, Portland, Salem, Tangent, Toledo, Turner, Lewiston, Idaho and Naselle, Wash.
