Platt Electric recognized for Employer Excellence by Oregon National Guard
The Oregon National Guard recognized Platt Electric for outstanding employer support during an award ceremony today at the Oregon Military Department in Salem.
Platt Electric was recognized for their continued support of the Oregon National Guard by offering civilian employment opportunities to Soldiers and Airmen. Platt Electric was presented with the Employer Award of Excellence by the Career Transition Assistance Program and the Above and Beyond Award by the Employer Support of Guard and Reserve.
Brig. Gen. Daniel B. O'Hollaren, Commander Oregon Air National Guard, presented the awards to Harvey Platt, CEO, and Jim Sleeman, Vice President of recruiting, and Scott Bordeaux, Regional Vice President.
Platt Electric has hired 31 Oregon National Guard members and currently has four more in the hiring process through the CTAP program. They have participated in all six of the career fairs that the CTAP program has held throughout the state.
"Platt Electric has attended and participated in every career fair that we have put on, no matter where it was and regardless of the amount of notice," said Sgt. 1st Class Phillip Maas, program manager for CTAP.
The Career Transition Assistance Program assists Soldiers and Airmen seeking employment by connecting them with employers who are hiring throughout the state. The CTAP database has compiled nearly 130 employers who are seeking to employ Oregon National Guard Soldiers and Airmen. Oregon is the first and only state to develop employment and reintegration programs to assist National Guard members with the transition back into civilian life after returning from deployments.
