Crash victims rescued by Oregon Army National Guard
Oregon Army National Guard crews rescued two victims of a plane crash late this morning from the site of the crash. The Guardsmen conducted hoist extractions for both victims and will take them to Saint Charles hospital in Bend.

The ORARNG was called on by the sheriff's office through the Office of Emergency Management to conduct the hoist missions because a ground extraction was impractical for the injured victims.

Late last night crews on an OH-58 Kiowa, also of the ORARNG, spotted the missing plane and crash victims and relayed their location to official's leading the search.

The OH-58 and the UH-60s used in the rescue are based out of Salem. The ORARNG supports civil authorities dozens of times each year throughout the state with search and rescue operations.
