"Navy Fallon" Dissimilar Air Combat Training at Kingsley Field
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Navy F-18 Hornets and Navy F-16 Fighting Falcons from Strike Fighter Warfare, Naval Air Station Fallon, Nevada arrived today to participate in a dissimilar air combat training.
Dissimilar air combat training provides an opportunity for both student and instructor pilots to train against a diverse range of capable combat aircraft. Fighters from Strike Fighter Warfare will be conducting training missions here until March 21, 2008.
"Having professional bandits in town with different airframes and unique electronic attack capabilities really increases the quality of training that our F-15 students receive," said Lt. Col. Wes "Pappy" French, 114th Fighter Squadron Director of Operations. "We are very lucky to be able to host our fighter pilot neighbors from Fallon Naval Air Station and their F-16's and F-18's here this week."
Kingsley Field is home to the 173rd Fighter Wing which provides a variety of combat training to U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard F-15 Eagle fighter pilots.
