Oregon Air National Guard to participate in flyovers throughout the region
 
Fighter jets from the Oregon Air National Guard are scheduled to take part in several flyovers around the region in the coming weeks.

The fighters are F-15 Eagles based at either the 142nd Fighter Wing, in Portland, Ore., or the 173rd Fighter Wing, which is temporarily based at Gowen Field, Idaho during ongoing construction projects at Kingsley Field in Klamath Falls.

Flyovers will include either a two- or four-ship formation. In some instances static F-15 displays will also be provided on the ground. The following is a list of dates and locations for the scheduled flyovers:

28-30 Aug – Oregon International Air show (F15 static display and flyover)

29 Aug – Northwest Art & Air show (flyover)

29 Aug – Veterans Appreciation Parade/ OR State Fair (flyover)

3 Sept – Boise State University vs. University of Oregon @ Boise (flyover: A-10's from 124FW)

12 Sept – Ontario Airfest (flyover)

18-20 Sept – Reno Air Races (F15 static display and flyover)

19 Sept – OSU vs. Cincinnati Football (flyover)

19 Sept. – Pendleton Round up (flyover) NOTE: Approval still pending

19 Sept – PSU vs. Weber Football (flyover)

The F-15 Eagle is the premier strike fighter for the United States Air Force and the Air National Guard. Approximately 2,200 airmen comprise the Oregon Air National Guard, which is responsible for the Air Sovereignty Mission over the entire Pacific Northwest region of the United States.
