Oregon National Guard launches UH-60 helicopter to assist in search for missing hikers on Mount Hood
 
SALEM, Ore.-The Oregon National Guard launched a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter from Army Aviation Support Facility #1 at approximately 9:00 a.m. to assist with the search for two missing hikers on Mount Hood.

On Sunday, Dec. 13, another Oregon Army National Guard UH-60 helicopter conducted an initial assessment between the 9,000- and 10,000-foot elevations, before picking up additional rescue teams coordinated by the Clackamas County Sheriff's Department.

Officials are waiting for a break in the weather before resuming the ground and air search.
