Oregon Emergency Management hires new Section Director of Technology and Response - Shannon Marheine
Salem, OR— Brigadier General Michael Caldwell, Interim Director of Oregon Emergency Management (OEM) announced recently the hiring of Shannon Marheine as the new Section Director of Technology and Response.

"Shannon has proven her knowledge and capability as acting director of the section these past six months," said B.G. Caldwell. "We are excited to have her as a permanent member of the OEM team."

Shannon began her service with Oregon Emergency Management as a member of the State 9-1-1 Program in 1998. She has served in multiple roles for the agency including;
9-1-1 Program Assistant and 9-1-1/Technology Section Lead.

Shannon is an active member of the Oregon chapter of the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) and the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO) and currently serves as the Chair of the State 9-1-1 Advisory Committee.

Shannon received the APCO/NENA State Impact Award in 2005 for her contributions toward the implementation of wireless phase II services for Oregon's 9-1-1 community. Shannon holds the NENA Emergency Number Professional (ENP) accreditation and is Oregon's representative for the National Association of State 9-1-1 Administrators (NASNA).

Shannon was born in Salem, Oregon and is a current resident along with her husband, Matt, her sixteen year old daughter Alexis and her four year old son Connor.
