Dignitaries scheduled to attend mobilization ceremony for Oregon Air National Guard in Portland Friday
PORTLAND, Ore.-Congressman David Wu (OR-District 1), Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber, and Maj. Gen. Raymond F. Rees, Adjutant General, Oregon, along with other city, local, government, and business officials, are scheduled to attend a mobilization ceremony for the Oregon Air National Guard's 116th Air Control Squadron, Friday, March 4.

The ceremony will take place in the Rosenbaum Hangar (building 375) at the Portland Air Base at 2:00 p.m.

More than 80 Airmen from the 116th Air Control Squadron, Oregon Air National Guard will deploy to the Middle East in support of Air Forces Central (CENTAF), where they will perform Air Battle Management missions for four months.

They are joined by three members of the 270th Air Control Squadron, based at Kingsley Field in Klamath Falls, Ore., one Airman from the 133rd Test Squadron, Iowa Air National Guard, and two members from the 141st Air Control Squadron, Puerto Rico Air National Guard.

Pre-mobilization training was accomplished at Camp Rilea, in Warrenton, Ore., and at Camp Adair. Airmen utilized the in-theater system, Battle Control Center-CENTAF, or BC3, as well as other pre-deployment ancillary training to prepare them for the mission.
