F-15 Night Flying
Portland, OR. -- The 142nd Fighter Wing will be conducting routine F-15 jet fighter night flying training May 17 - 20, to stay current with mandatory Air Force requirements.

Most training flights will be completed each evening before 10 p.m.  The training may produce more noise than normal at the air base and near Portland International Airport due to an increase in ground and air traffic.

Night flying is conducted almost monthly as it provides essential training for the use of night vision goggles (NVG's) and other night time maneuvers.  Our pilots and maintenance crews maintain an alert mission 24 hours a day, seven days a week and are required to maintain training currencies to do the mission day or night.
