Oregon National Guard responds to flooding near Burns
Oregon National Guard personnel are supporting Harney County with flooding near Burns, Ore.
The Incident Commander, Harney County Judge Steve Grasty, said approximately 1.5 inches of rain and snow melt have contributed to a dramatic rise in the Silvies River.
Citizen Soldiers from the area have quickly responded and are currently on site providing support to the incident commander.
"They are a very important part of this community and it is really nice to see them working hard to assist," said Grasty of the Oregon National Guard members who are on site.
Oregon Emergency Management is the coordinating office for assets available to incident commanders throughout the state to include the Oregon National Guard.
