Salem, Ore.- The Oregon Air National Guard is scheduled to conduct Memorial Day flyovers at various locations throughout Oregon and Southern Washington.
 
F-15 Eagle Fighter jets from the 142nd Fighter Wing based in Portland, and the 173rd Fighter Wing in Klamath Falls, are scheduled to conduct flyovers at the following locations and approximate times Monday, May 30.
 
142nd Fighter Wing:
 
10:10 a.m.  Willamette National Cemetery Memorial Day Program, Portland, Ore.
10:44 a.m.  Memorial Day Observance and Remembrance of Fallen
            servicemembers, Independence Airport, Independence, Ore.
10:45 a.m.  Avenue of Flags-American Legion Post 20, Dallas, Ore.
11:01 a.m.  Annual Memorial Day event, Beaverton, Ore.
11:03 a.m.  Crescent Grove Cemetery Memorial event, Tigard, Ore.
11:05 a.m.  Vancouver, Wa.
11:07 a.m.  Memorial Day service, Scappoose, Ore.
11:15 a.m.  Longview, Wa.
11:18 a.m.  Woodland, Wa.
11:19 a.m.  Ridgefield, Wa.

173rd Fighter Wing:

All flyovers will be approximately 1,000 feet above ground level and at about 400 mph airspeed.  Flights could be canceled or times changed due to inclement weather or operational contingencies.
 
The Oregon Air National Guard has been an integral part of the nation's air defense since 1941.  The 142nd Fighter Wing guards the Pacific Northwest skies form Northern California to the Canadian border, on 24-hour alert as part of the North American Air Defense System.  The 173rd Fighter Wing is home to the premier F-15 pilot training facility in the United States.
