Conviction of a crime will not automatically disqualify an individual from being considered for employment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES — Highlights
- As part of the information, education and outreach section, helps develop a strategic marketing and outreach plan for the Healthy Kids Plan.
- Assists in the development of training programs and trains internal staff, other state agencies and departments, insurance agents, private groups, insurance carriers, employers and the public.
- Markets the Healthy Kids Plan via insurance carriers and agents.
- Contacts small employers directly to provide information on benefits of providing health insurance and/or the availability of the Healthy Kids Plan for employee dependents.
- Develops advertising and training materials to support the marketing and outreach strategic plans for the Healthy Kids Plan.
- Develops and participates in statewide seminar presentations to stakeholders regarding the availability of Healthy Kids Plans and the components of the Oregon Health Plan, including the Family Health Insurance Assistance Program (FHIAP) and the Oregon Medical Insurance Pool (OMIP).
- Participates in statewide continuing education and training on Oregon state laws and revised statutes for health insurance carriers, agents and associations.
- Develops marketing brochures and training materials, and provides input for agency newsletters and press releases.
QUALIFICATIONS A Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a degree related to the agency program that demonstrates the capacity for the knowledge and skills; OR Any combination of experience or education equivalent to three years technical-level experience that typically supports the knowledge and skill requirements listed for the classification. - Explain how you have used marketing, communications and outreach principles and strategies to achieve the goals of a company or organization you have worked for.
- Your public speaking experience and experience developing public presentations.
- Your experience in developing, writing and editing high-quality communication pieces.
Preference may be given to candidates with insurance knowledge. If you have insurance knowledge, please explain in your cover letter how you gained this knowledge. Preference may also be given to candidates who have Spanish bilingual skills. If you have bilingual Spanish skills, please include your experience using these skills to provide translation and interpretation. You may include an additional page to explain these experiences.
