Tichenor Cemetery, Curry County
Tichenor Cemetery, Curry County
The Tichenor Family Cemetery in Curry County is a private family cemetery with a fabulous view. Captain William Tichenor, founder of Port Orford, settled in the area in 1851 and established the cemetery. The cemetery includes five generations of the Tichenor family. Only a few of the burials are not directly related to the Tichenors. Some of these were prominent Western settlers in the town. One built the Port Orford jail in 1858 and a hotel in 1874.

If you would like your cemetery included as a featured historic cemetery, please contact Kuri Gill at Kuri.Gill@state.or.us or (503) 986-0685.
