Paper submissions for above-ground resources (buildings and structures) must include the following to be reviewed:
- A completed Oregon SHPO Clearance Form with accompanying photos, maps, and drawings. Additional documentation may be appended as needed. See the Oregon SHPO Clearance form for more complete instructions.
- A map that indicates where the project will take place. The map should include several blocks surrounding the project area with the street names and project location marked. An appropriately cropped portion of a digital USGS Topographical map is preferred.
- If needed, you may be contacted and asked to provide the Township, Section, and Range where the project will take place.
Those with projects involving ground-disturbing activities should contact Oregon Archaeological Services at (503) 986-0675 before submitting any documentation. Further information can be found at http://www.oregonheritage.org/OPRD/HCD/ARCH/index.shtml . Ground-disturbing activities include, but are not limited to, digging footings, foundations, trenches; paving sidewalks and parking lots; and driving heavy machinery on non-paved surfaces.
NOTE: Any project financed wholly or in part by the Oregon Department of Transportation or Federal Highway Administration should contact that agency for appropriate compliance forms and submit documentation through their ODOT or Federal Highway Administration contact person.
