Nehalem Bay State Park

 Horses and riders at Nehalem Bay
Off U.S. 101, 3 miles south of Manzanita Junction.
Trails:  6 miles of trail and beach access. Please ride on designated trails and only on the beach west of the fore dune.
Sites: 17 primitive sites, each with two 11’ x 11’ stalls. Maximum of four horses, although two horses per site recommended.
Features: Picnic tables, fire ring, drinking water nearby. Showers/flush toilets in main campground.
Rates:  $16, May-September; $12, October- April. $3 day-use fee.

South Coast

Bullards Beach State Park
U.S. 101, 2 miles north of Bandon
Trails:  4½ miles of beach. 7 miles of designated trails, one leads to Coquille River Lighthouse.
 
Sites:  8 primitive. 3 sites with double wood stalls for 2 horses, 5 sites with quadruple wood stalls for 4 horses.
 
Features: Picnic tables, fire rings, drinking water, portable toilets. Showers/flush toilets in main campground.
 
Other Info:  Stalls have chain gates.  Please clean the site and stalls and dispose of trash and manure in the designated area. Parking and hitching posts available for day-use visitors.
 
Rates:  $16, May-September; $12, October-April.

Cape Blanco State Park
Off U.S. 101, 9 miles north of Port Orford
Trails:  7 miles of riding trails. 150-acre open riding area. Beach access.
 
Sites:  6 sites share 3, 14' x 14' corrals for 2 horses; 2 pull-through sites each with double corrals for 4 horses. Hitching posts located in the camp.
 
Features:  Picnic tables, fire rings, drinking water. Showers/flush toilets in main campground.
 
Rates: $14, May-September; $10, October-April.

L.L. “Stub” Stewart State Park - Hares Canyon Horse Camp and Clayhill Horse Staging Area
Off Oregon 47, four miles north of the U.S. 26-Hwy. 47 intersection.
Trails: 15 miles of multi-use trails.  For more information and limits on equestrian use, see the L.L. "Stub" Stewart brochure and trail guide. Access to 21-mile Banks-Vernonia State Trail.
 
Sites: 14 full hookup sites with 4-stall corrals, 2 double-size full hookup sites with 6-stall corrals.
 
Features: Universal access parking, picnic table, fire ring at all sites. Manure bins, flush toilets and hot showers.
 
Other Info: Stalls have chain gates. Please clean the site and stalls and dispose of trash and manure in designated areas. Clayhill Horse Staging Area includes large gravel day-use area for truck and horse trailer parking; vault toilets. Equestrians must spread or kick animal waste off the trail, or move your animal to the side of the trail.
 
Rates: $22 (single), $40 (double), May-September; $18 (single),
$31 (double), October-April; $3 day-use fee.

Willamette Valley

Silver Falls State Park — Howard Creek Horse Camp

 Silver Falls Horse Camp
OR 214, 26 miles east of Salem
Trails: 21 miles of multi-use trails. Please observe restricted use signs on trails and follow proper trail courtesy when encountering other trail users.
Sites: 6 primitive. 5 sites with a set of four corrals each. Maximum 8 people/4 horses per site. One group site with 12 corrals. Maximum 24 people/12 horses. For more information, please see the Silver Falls State Park Trail Guide (750KB pdf)and the Where to Stay at Silver Falls State Park guide.
 
Features: Picnic tables, fire rings, drinking water, vault toilets. Showers/flush toilets in main campground.
 
Other Info: Day-use parking, hitching rails and loading ramp at the 214 Trailhead.
 
Rates:  $16 for single site, $48 for group site—May 1-Sept. 30; $12 for single site, $36 for group site—Oct. 1-April 30 (closed Nov. 1-March 31). $3 day-use fee.

Willamette Mission State Park
Off I-5, 8 miles north of Salem
Trails: 5 miles of riding trails.
 
Sites: 4 primitive, each with one corral divided into four stalls. Maximum 4 horses per site.
 
Special Features: Picnic tables, fire rings, vault toilets. Flush toilet nearby.
 
Other Info: The area is subject to flooding from the Willamette River in winter and early spring. The park or trails may be closed due to high water. Before your trip, please call (503) 393-1172 to listen to an updated recorded message.
 
Rates:  $14, May-September; $10, October-April. The horse camp is closed November-March. $3 day-use fee.

Southern

Collier Memorial State Park
U.S. 97, 30 miles north of Klamath Falls. 25 miles southeast of the south entrance to Crater Lake National Park.
Trails: 10-miles of multi-use trail connecting Collier Park to Kimball State Recreation Site available in adjacent Winema National Forest (low-use primitive roads). USFS road map recommended.
 
Sites: One large area at the equestrian trailhead. Four 12' x 12' corrals. Pumice ground surface. Accommodates 10 horse trailers.
 
Features:  Corrals, water (except winter), hitching post, tables and garbage receptacles. Fees are collected for overnight use. Campfires are not allowed. Public restrooms available in nearby Spring Creek Day-Use Area (except winter).
 
Other Info: The Collier-Kimball trail follows primitive roads and is designed for horseback riders, hikers and mountain bikers. Please carry a U.S. Forest Service road map.
 
Rates: First-come, first-served. $15, May-September; $10, October and April. Campground open April 1-Oct. 31, depending on weather conditions. Please call the State Park Information number, (800) 551-6949, for campground status.

Eastern

Emigrant Springs State Heritage Area

 Emigrant Springs
I-84, 26 miles southeast of Pendleton
Trails: Short horse trail meanders through the park. Access available to miles of trails outside the park. Please ask a park ranger for more information.
Sites:  7 primitive sites, each with a 14' x 14' corral. A maximum of 2 horses per site preferred.
 
Features: Picnic tables, fire rings, drinking water. Showers/flush toilets in main campground.
 
Rates: $14, May-September; $10, October-April. The horse camping area may be closed during the winter due to snow. Please call the State Park Information number, (800) 551-6949, or the park, (541) 983-2277, for more information.
