Horse Heaven

 Horse illustration
Whether you ride the more than 200 miles of trails or spread your bedroll in one of our eight horse camps, an equestrian getaway in an Oregon state park will give you campfire fodder to last a lifetime.

Looking to cover a little ground? Try the 100-mile OC&E Woods Line State Trail east of Klamath Falls or the 21-mile Banks-Vernonia State Trail west of Portland. If you like the sound of waves and the purplish-blue glow of an ocean sunset, then the six state parks with beach access are for you. Meadows, woodlands and wetlands are typical features of parks such as Elijah Bristow, Willamette Mission and Milo McIver.

Call the State Parks Information Center, 800-551-6949, for more information on horse trails and horse camping.
