Floras Lake/Blacklock Point
In the summer of 2011, the Oregon State Parks and Recreation Commission learned the Curry County Commission planned to submit a proposal to transfer part of Floras Lake State Natural Area from the state park system to county control.
 
Update 1: while no formal proposal was on the table at the time, the Curry County Commission released general information about the proposal through public meetings and media interviews. Oregon Parks and Recreation Department Director Tim Wood responded to the county's concept with this letter.
 
Update 2: The Curry County Commission replied to OPRD Director Tim Wood's letter. Read the county response where the county drops the proposal.
