He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oregon School of Nursing (now OHSU), in Eugene, and his Master of Science degree in Community Health Nursing from Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz.

Ms. Shields is a clinical educator in the Professional Development Department with the Asante Health System in Medford. She has more than 25 years of nursing experience, primarily in medical/surgical, obstetrics and neonatal care. She received her Associate Degree in Nursing from the College of San Mateo in San Mateo, Calif.

Ms. Coon is the nurse for a Special Education Life Skills class in the Multnomah Education Service District in Portland, Ore., and is one of two Licensed Practical Nurses on the Board. She received her Practical Nurse diploma from Boise State University in Boise, Idaho.

Ms. Gutierrez is a staff nurse in Day Surgery/PACU at St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton and has more than 25 years of nursing experience in perinatal care, critical care and home care/hospice. She received her nursing diploma from Barnes Hospital School of Nursing in St. Louis, Mo.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wayne State University in Detriot, Mich., and her Master of Business Administration from the University of Portland, Portland, Ore.
