EBSCO Databases available from the Oregon Statewide Database Licensing Program
The following databases from EBSCO are accessible as part of the statewide database licensing program as of Feburary 2006. Academic Search FullTEXT Premier
Academic Search Premier contains indexing for 8,030 publications, with full text for more than 4,500 of those titles. PDF backfiles to 1975 or further are available for well over one hundred journals, and searchable cited references are provided for more than 1,000 titles. Academic Search Premier contains unmatched full text coverage in biology, chemistry, engineering, physics, psychology, religion & theology, etc. [title list]
AGRICOLA
AGRICOLA contains bibliographic records from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural Library. Coverage for AGRICOLA dates back to 1970 and includes more than 2.5 million citations. The citations are comprised of journal articles, monographs, theses, patents, software, audiovisual materials, and technical reports related to agriculture. There is instant access to full text for 386 journals indexed in AGRICOLA.
Alt HealthWatch
This database focuses on the many perspectives of complementary, holistic and integrated approaches to health care and wellness. It offers libraries an immediate resource of full text articles, from 179 international, and often peer-reviewed journals, reports, proceedings and association & consumer newsletters. In addition, there are hundreds of pamphlets, booklets, special reports, original research and book excerpts. [title list]
Business Source Premier
Business Source Premier contains more than 2,300 full text magazines and journals covering every area of business. The database includes full text sources ranging from general periodicals to trade publications to top management journals. Additional sources include over 1,400 country economic reports; 10,000 substantial company profiles, 3,921 industry reports; and 528 market research reports. Business Source Premier contains expanded PDF backfiles for nearly 250 titles (back to 1965 or the first issue published for that journal). Computer Source
This database contains more than 300 full text journals and magazines covering topics such as computer science, programming, artificial intelligence, cybernetics, information systems, robotics, and software. Computer Source provides a balance of full text technical journals and full text consumer computer titles. [title list]
ERIC
ERIC, the Educational Resource Information Center, provides access to education literature and resources. ERIC provides full text of more than 2,200 digests along with references for additional information and citations and abstracts from over 1,000 educational and education-related journals. Statewide database subscribers will have instant access to full text for 792 journals indexed in ERIC.
Fuente Academica
Fuente Academica provides PDF full text for more than 200 scholarly publications covering areas of academic study. Content is provided in Spanish from respected publishers worldwide, including Revista de Arquitectura, Estudios Sobre Educacion, Revista de Estudios Hispanicos, Comunicacion y Sociedad, Revista de Ciencia Politica, Revista Historia, and more. Health Source: Consumer Edition
This resource provides access to nearly 300 full text, consumer health periodicals. There is also searchable full text for more than 1,000 health-related pamphlets and 135 health reference books. Additionally, Health Source: Consumer Edition contains more than 4,500 Clinical Reference Systems reports (in English and Spanish); Clinical Pharmacology, which provides access to 1,100 drug monograph entries and 2,700 patient education fact sheets; and Stedman’s Medical Dictionary. Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition
This resource provides 550 scholarly full text journals focusing on many medical disciplines. Coverage of nursing and allied health is particularly strong. In addition, this database includes the Clinical Pharmacology database, providing access to up-to-date, concise and clinically relevant drug monographs for all U.S. prescription drugs, hard-to-find herbal and nutritional supplements, over-the-counter products and new drugs. Magazine Article Summaries (MAS) Ultra -- School Edition
This comprehensive database, designed specifically for high school libraries, contains full text for more than 700 popular, high school magazines including Congressional Digest, Discover, Scientific American, Smithsonian, World War II, etc. All full text articles are assigned a reading level indicator (Lexiles). Full text is also available for 84,074 biographies and 86,135 primary source documents. Additionally, MAS Ultra (School Edition) contains 518 pamphlets, more than 230 reference books (including the Columbia Encyclopedia, the CIA World Fact Book and World Almanac & Book of Facts), an Image Collection of 107,135 photos, maps & flags, color PDFs and expanded full text backfiles (back to 1975) for key magazines. This Spanish language database contains the complete table of contents and PDF full text for more than 140 peer-reviewed medical journals in native Spanish. A wide range of topics are covered including neuroscience, cardiology, nephrology, biomedicine, clinical research, pediatrics, human reproduction, clinical pathology, cancer research, and hematology. MEDLINE
MEDLINE provides authoritative medical information on medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, pre-clinical sciences, and much more. Created by the National Library of Medicine, MEDLINE uses MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) indexing with tree numbers, tree hierarchy and explosion capabilities to search abstracts from over 4,800 current biomedical journals. Included are citations from Index Medicus, International Nursing Index, Index to Dental Literature, HISTLINE, SPACELINE, PREMEDLINE , AIDSLINE , BIOETHICSLINE and HealthSTAR. Libraries in the statewide database licensing programl have access to full text for 1,750 journals indexed in MEDLINE.
Middle Search Plus
Middle Search Plus contains full text for 140 popular, middle school magazines. All full text articles are assigned a reading level indicator (Lexiles). Full text is also available for thousands of biographies, historical essays and student pamphlets. Additionally, Middle Search Plus contains primary source documents including Essential Documents in American History, reference books including the Funk & Wagnall's New World Encyclopedia and American HeritageDictionary, the Encyclopedia of Animals, and an Image Collection of 107,135 photos, maps and flags. Middle Search Plus also includes the Our States reference book series.
