Welcome to the Boating Facilities Section
Boating Facilities Program
The Marine Board is committed to helping provide boaters with safe, sufficient, and quality boating facilities. Most boaters launch at a public boat ramp and will likely need to use boarding floats, a transient tie-up, a parking space, a restroom, a pumpout, or other amenities every time they go boating. While the Marine Board does not own or operate any of these facilities, we provide funding to the public agencies that do.
Completed Projects

Powder House Cove Boat Launch Facility
**OPEN -New Facility on Prineville Reservoir**

Together with the Bureau of Reclamation and Oregon State Marine Board, the Oregon Parks & Recreation Department has opened its newest and one of its biggest boating facilities on Prineville Reservoir. Powder House Cove is open for business as of May 11, 2008.

Originally there was an unimproved gravel ramp, gravel access road and gravel parking. With improvements to Hwy. 27, this site was receiving a lot more boating traffic. The new site now has a two-lane launch ramp with self-adjusting boarding floats (for water levels), restroom, paved access road and paved marked parking area.

If you have any questions about this park or any other State Parks, call 1-800-551-6949.

New Pumpout/Dump Stations
There were two new Pumpout/Dump stations installed recently, both being financed in part by the Clean Vessel Act, funded through the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. The first pumpout/dump station is located in Warrenton, at the Warrenton Marina in Clatsop County. This new unit replaces an aging and well used unit within the marina. For questions about this facility please call 503-861-3822.

The second pumpout/dump station is also replacing the one at the Port of St Helens at the Scappoose Bay Marine Park. If you have any questions about this facility please call 503-397-2888.

Currently there are over fifty (50) pumpouts and dump stations scattered throughout Oregon. For a listing of stations as well as floating restrooms go to www.boatoregon.com to find the closest facility for your boating needs.
Boating Facilities Background

Launching at Green Peter Reservoir
The State Marine Board Boating Facility Grant Program was established in 1971 by the Oregon Legislature. Legislative direction for this grant program is contained in Oregon Revised Statute 830.150. The Board has also adopted administrative rules to further implement the Statute. These rules can be found in Chapter 250, Division 14 of Oregon Administrative Rules.

The Board does not own or operate any boating sites or facilities and instead, relies on willing partners to apply for grants to make needed improvements. Boating Facility Grants are available to help the providers of public boating access sites around the state to acquire, improve, and maintain facilities that serve recreational boaters. Typical boating improvements include launch ramps, boarding floats, parking lots, restrooms, transient moorage, and other items needed by boaters.
