Where to Go to Get It Done
You don't need to come to the Salem office to register or renew. We encourage you to renew online or by mail.
The Marine Board only titles and registers the boat.
Trailers are registered through the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles and not the Marine Board.
The Marine Board has a partnership with many boat dealers and sporting good stores who provide exceptional customer service to boaters by serving as registration agents. There are nearly 100 businesses throughout the state that can accept applications and fees. Simply locate the agent closest to you and submit your original documents and fees to them. They will issue a temporary permit that allows you to operate your boat and forward your application and fees to the Marine Board for processing. The agent will charge you up to $2.50 per transaction for this service. The agent fee will increase every 3 years.
Bonded Boat Registration Agents Call the agent first for store directions and hours of operation.
