Pine Hollow Reservoir Speed Limit Change Sought

The Oregon State Marine Board is now accepting written public comment on a proposed rule change for Pine Hollow Reservoir. Comments on the change must be received by Monday, June 21.

The current rule limits motorboat speeds to 10 mph from the day following Labor Day through June 30 in the area west of the buoy line. The proposed amendment, which was requested by petition, would impose the speed limit the day following Labor Day to the Saturday prior to Memorial Day. The change effectively lifts the speed limit on this portion of the lake for an additional 50- to 60-days each spring.

The Marine Board will consider the new language at the June 30 Board meeting. Written comments on the revised rule are welcome, but must be received by Monday, June 21. Comments can be sent by mail to "OSMB – Wayne Shuyler, PO Box 14145, Salem OR 97309. They can also be sent via fax to (503) 378-4597, or via e-mail to marine.board@state.or.us. Telephone comments will not be accepted.
