Marine Board Meeting Addendum
For Immediate Release
The Facilities Program Report will now include an update on the Sand Island transient float repairs near St. Helens.
In August, the City of St. Helens reported the float had sustained damage to one of the concrete float pods. After further assessment by OSMB engineers, it was determined that an unknown object forcefully broke through the bottom of the concreate float, compacting the foam flotation and pushed through the top surface, creating an unusable and unsafe condition.
The Marine Board staff will recommend to the Board to authorize the Director to approve an EMAP (Emergency Maintenance Assistance Program) grant not to exceed $50,000 to the City of St. Helens to make emergency repairs to the tranisent tie-up on North Sand Island.
