DepoeBayReceives Grant for New Boarding Floats

The City of Depoe Bay received a grant from the Oregon State Marine Board to replace the existing boarding floats located at the public boat launch ramp in Depoe Bay.  The Marine Board approved the grant at its quarterly Board meeting on April 7, in Wilsonville.

Depoe Bay provides ready-access to the Pacific Ocean through a maintained channel and is considered one of the safest portals for small recreational and commercial craft venturing off-shore.  The current boarding floats will be removed and eight new boarding floats will take their place with very little impact to boaters and the public.

The City of Depoe Bay requested $71,000 in state funds, which will be combined with $23,800 in-kind and cash contributions by the city.  The projected total cost is $94,800.
