Marine Board Meeting Set for July 8 at ODFW
The Oregon State Marine Board will consider boating regulations on a variety of waterbodies statewide, at their quarterly meeting on July 8 at 8:30 a.m. The meeting will be held at the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, 1st Floor Commission room,3406 Cherry Avenue N.E., in Salem.
The Board will consider a no-wake and congestion zone rulemaking for the Lower Willamette River and a slow-no-wake zone in the Prineville Reservoir adjacent to the resort marina.
The Board will also review requests to initiate rulemaking on three additional waterbodies:
· South Fork of the Coquille River - prohibit motorboats
· Nehalem River –expand a current prohibition on the use of motors equal to or greater than 15 horsepower upstream from Roy Creek
· Calapooia River – establish a maximum 5 MPH speed limit on the Calapooia River
Other agenda items include:
· Consideration of Facility Grants
o City of Springfield –Pumpout Station
o Potential cost increases for:
§ M. James Gleason wave attenuation wall, transient tie-up and pumpout/dump station
§ Detroit low water ramp, access road, parking and Mongold ramp extension
§ Sandy Beach transient tie-up floats, composting restroom and debris deflection boom
· Consideration of Agency Budget
· Director’s Report
· Law Enforcement Program Report
· Facilities Program Report
· Education/Information Program Report
· Policy and Planning Staff Report
