Marine Board to Hold Public Meeting for Proposed Outfitter & Guide Rules
For Immediate Release -9/19/11
The Oregon State Marine Board is holding a public meeting to gather input for proposed rule changes to the Outfitter and Guide Program.  The meeting will be held on Thursday, September 22 beginning at 5 p.m. at the Bend Senior Center, 1600 SE Reed Market Road in Bend.
In February, The Board convened the Guide Advisory Committee (GAC), as defined in Chapter 704 of the Oregon Revised Statute, to review the Outfitter Guide program.  Marine Board staff conducted a series of regional workshops with guides and outfitters to discuss issues related to the current administrative rules.  Marine Board staff and members of the GAC gathered feedback from those meetings and developed proposed rules that are now open for public comment.
Written comment will be accepted beginning September 1 through the end of a special Marine Board meeting, scheduled for October 25 at the Red Lion Hotel, 205 Coburg Rd., in Eugene.  The Board meeting begins at 6 p.m.
Written comments can be submitted via email to osmb.rulemaking@state.or.us or by U.S. mail to June LeTarte, Rules Coordinator, 435 Commercial Street NE, Suite 400, P.O. Box 14145, Salem, OR 97309-5056.  Comments via telephone cannot be accepted.
