Marine Board Approves Grant for Irrigon Parks & Rec District
For Immediate Release -4/13/12

The Marine Board approved a grant for the Irrigon Parks and Recreation District to replace the existing marine sewage pumpout and dump station located in the marina. The Marine Board approved the grant at its quarterly Board meeting on April 11, in Springfield.

Located in Morrow County on the upper end of Lake Umatilla, the Irrigon boat ramp provides access to all types of boating on the Columbia River. The Park District operates a public launch ramp as well as a marina with transient dock.  The existing marine sewage pumpout and dump station have reached the end of their useful life and will be replaced, providing boaters with dependable equipment for waste disposal.

The Irrigon Parks and Recreation District was awarded $21,000 in federal Clean Vessel Act funds and $3,000 in state boater funds which will be combined with $6,000 in-kind contribution by the Park District. The projected total cost is $34,000.
