OREGON COUNCIL AGAINST ARSON

How You Can Help -
And Receive A Reward

The Oregon Council Against Arson (OCAA), is a joint task force of the Oregon law enforcement, fire service, government and insurance communities. Working together to educate the public about the nature of the arson problem, they are equally committed to reducing the incidence of arson by promoting greater citizen involvement in solving such crimes.

In a statewide effort to fight arson in Oregon and to send a strong, unified message that "Oregonians will not stand by and allow arsonists to get away with such devastating crimes against lives and property," the OCAA maintains an anti-arson cash reward program. This program provides cash awards to citizens who provide information to law enforcement that leads to the arrest and conviction of arsonists.

In addition to the cash awards, the OCAA sponsors a toll-free statewide hotline to encourage citizens to provided information (anonymous if requested) on arson crimes, that may lead to the arrest and conviction of arsonists.

If the Nominator selects to maintain the anonymity of the informant, then he must be willing to sign a sworn statement that either condition above is the reason for the anonymity and that none of the rules of the award system, to the best of his/her knowledge, have been violated.
If the Nominator selects to maintain the anonymity of the informant, then the Nominator shall select a seven-digit number and enter that number in the Nominee portion of the application form.

5. Only information on fires in the State of Oregon will be considered for an award.

6. Those person(s) ineligible to receive an award are members of the Oregon Council Against Arson (OCAA), insurance industry employees, law enforcement personnel, fire service personnel, prosecuting attorneys and their staff members, and their respective families.
